Vechicles Types and Classification

Collectible Cars

- A private passenger vehicle that is used on a limited basis for activities such as exhibitions, club activities, parades, and the occasional pleasure/leisure activity. We look for vehicles that are in good to excellent maintenance, original or restored condition, and whose characteristics; unique features, rarity, and/or overall popularity with various generations raise the desirability of the vehicle above that of the common auto. The American Modern Collector Car Program classifies each vehicle based on model year and modification level into Antique, Classic, Collectible, Exotic, Street Rod, or Custom.

 

Kit Cars

- Vehicles built from a purchased package are eligible when assembled by an experienced and/or professional manufacturer or dealer. Documentation of value and kit manufacturer must be provided. They should be considered modified and entered in accordance with the registration.

 

Vehicles Under Restoration

- Vehicles less than 80%* completed at the time of application are required to be under active restoration. Annual updates on restoration process are required and there is a standard expectation of completion in 2 years. They are rated based on the original year.

- *80% complete is when only minor touches are needed such as final paint, decals, interior, etc.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

Operator

- At least 9 years driving experience.

- No more than: 2 minor moving violations, 1 at-fault accident, or 1 at-fault accident & 1 minor violation.

- No license suspensions, revocations, or major violations.

- Valid drivers license required.

 

Usage

- Used solely for exhibitions, club activities, parades, and occasional pleasure driving.

- Not used as substitute transportation for regular use vehicle or sole purpose of errands/shopping.

- No coverage while involved in racing type events or business usage.

- Usage kept within mileage accruement.

 

Vehicle

- Excellent condition with increased level of desirability over the common auto.

- Dune buggies; equipped with camper top or bed mounted tool box; and donor/parts cars are ineligible.

- Vehicles owned/registered to a collector car dealer or restoration shop are ineligible.

- Kit cars not professionally assembled are ineligible.

 

Miscellaneous

- All operators must maintain a regular use auto newer than 20 years of age.

- Limits on this policy are required to be less than or equal to the limits on the regular use auto.

- Vehicles should be stored in a fully enclosed lockable garage.

 

 

BINDING PROCEDURES

Documentation

- Completed and Signed Application

- Regular use vehicle declarations page, Documentation for Discounts, MVR.

- Bill of sale (opt.).

- (Endorsements only) Request from insured or authorized representative.

 

Photos

- Minimum of all four sides. If modified or over $100,000.

- Interior showing dash and odometer reading.

- Engine Bay

- Photo of garage if revising garage location.

 

Miscellaneous

- Ensure VIN and current odometer reading is listed correctly.

- Ensure that limits do not exceed those on regular use auto policy.

 

PAYMENT PLANS

1 pay

- Paid in full.

 

4 pay

- 25% down with 3 installments.

- Installments due at 30,120, and 210 days.

- Service fee applicable*

- Not available for policies with premium less than $500.00

 

EZ Pay (Electronic Funds Transfer)

- 2 months down.10 installments.

- 10 remaining installments.

- Service fee applicable*

- Available for all policies.

 

 

PAYMENT METHODS

- Credit Cards (MasterCard®, Visa®, Discover®, and American Express®) are accepted for all payment options. Please utilize form AMIGCC-001.For EZ Pay (Electronic Funds Transfer), submit authorization form # 00220-08-G with a voided check or withdrawal slip. The customer may select the dates of automatic withdrawal.
